I have used it several times in chicken pieces, whole chickens and steak. It works instantly and is easy to read. One of the best parts is that the temperature guide on the removable cover. You don't have to have things memorized because what you need is right there at your hand. I also like the on-off switch. Saves on the battery. By the way, you receive an extra battery with this. It is quite a deal. I love it! I also like that I can put it in it's case & carry it in my pocket. The reason I don't give it five stars is that it is called an instant read. If I could improve upon it, I'd make the stem longer, but unfortunately all the long-stem thermometers didn't read as low as 90 degrees. Still, the thermometers work well in both the acidic and alkaline environments and are accurate. If they wear out, I'll buy the same brand again. |
